What's new in Aureli: Android, a new look and more

Our first weekly changelog covers the past month: Aureli on Android, a new logo and a cleaner look, two-factor sign-in and more.

This is the first "What's new in Aureli". From now on we'll post one every week, with what changed in the app over the previous week. This first one covers the past month, so it's longer than usual.

Aureli is on Android

The Aureli Android app is out on Google Play. It's free, and you sign in with the account you already have, so your portfolios, holdings and history are there from the start.

You can track assets and debts in any currency, check your net worth over time, connect your banks and get push notifications when things move. If you take Pro on Android, you pay through your Google Play account.

A new logo and a cleaner look

Aureli has a new logo: three lines over a green dot. You'll see it in the apps, in your emails and across the website.

We've cleaned up the website to match with more work to be done in this space.

  • Your account pages (profile, security, billing, usage and refer a friend) are simpler. You can also upload your own profile picture now, which matters if you signed up by email and never had one.
  • The connections list and each connection's page say more clearly what is connected, when it last updated and what needs your attention.
  • Notifications are split in two. Account notices (sign-ins, billing, connections) are on the main notifications page. Each portfolio has its own inbox for updates, large changes, stock splits and milestones, with an unread count in the sidebar. The bell shows both.
  • Balances on the overview. The overview now lists your cash accounts and credit cards in one place, so you can see which accounts hold your money and which cards are drawing on it. Open any of them from there.

Plan changes

Pro is now £79 a year, or £9 a month (in the US, $109 a year or $12 a month). That's the price for new subscribers, and you'll see it on the pricing page. Please note that app store pricing is higher to reflect the significant cut Apple and Google take.

If you already subscribe, nothing changes. You keep the plan and the price you signed up on. We aren't moving existing subscribers to the new price as a thank you for supporting Aureli early.

Pro now includes up to 25 linked bank accounts, up from 20. This applies to everyone on Pro, including current subscribers. Lite is still free and still includes one linked account to try it out.

Two-factor sign-in, and alerts when you sign in

You can now protect your account with two-factor authentication. Turn it on from Security in your profile, scan the code with an authenticator app, and keep your backup codes somewhere safe. After that, signing in asks for a code on the web and in both apps, unless you sign in with a passkey, which already counts as the second step. Password managers such as 1Password can fill the code for you.

Other security changes this month:

  • Sign-in alerts. If you have the app, each time your account signs in your phone gets a notification saying where the sign-in came from. If it wasn't you, tap it to review your sessions and sign them out.
  • Passkeys on iPhone. Sign in with Face ID or Touch ID, and add or remove passkeys from Security in the app.
  • Your sign-in methods in one place. You can connect or disconnect Google and Apple sign-in from Security. The login page now marks the method you used last, and a failed sign-in tells you what went wrong instead of leaving you on a blank page.

More balances, kept up to date

  • Binance, Kraken and Strike. You can now link these exchanges with a read-only API key and Aureli keeps the balance up to date. We check that the key can't trade or withdraw, both when you connect it and every time it syncs. If a key ever gains those permissions, we delete it and disconnect.
  • More frequent stock prices. Prices now update throughout the day while the market is open, instead of once a day.
  • Stock splits are handled for you. When a company splits its shares, Aureli adjusts your share count, keeps your cost basis, and lets you know.

Fewer, better alerts

Large-change alerts now have their own setting under each portfolio's notification settings: Off, Major (only weeks when your net worth itself moved a lot) or All. They've also become quieter by default:

  • one alert per move instead of three
  • the same week isn't reported again every morning
  • small holdings no longer lead the alert because they moved a large percentage
  • updating a valuation yourself no longer sends you an alert about it

If you've invited someone to a portfolio and they haven't accepted after three days, they'll get an email reminding them the invitation is about to expire.

Aureli AI

  • Newer models. The Enhanced tier now runs on Claude Sonnet 5.5, and the Expert tier on Claude Opus 5.5.
  • Categorise transactions in bulk. Ask the chat to tidy up your categories and it can relabel many transactions at once.
  • More for your own assistant. If you've connected Aureli to Claude, ChatGPT or another assistant, it can now refresh your bank balances on request, categorise transactions, and add new assets and debts, not only update existing ones. You can do all of this only if you gave it edit access.

Help when you need it

  • Support requests, inside Aureli. Open Help and support to send us a question, attach screenshots, and follow the replies in one conversation. It works on the web and is coming soon to the apps.
  • Ask Aureli AI from the knowledge base. When you're signed in, type a question into the help centre and Aureli AI answers it from our help articles, with a link to the article it used. If it can't, it writes up a support request for you to send.

Tax year checklist and referrals

Two things that launched at the start of the month in case you missed them:

  • The UK tax year checklist tracks your ISA, pension, dividend, savings and capital gains allowances against targets you set, and shows what's left before 5 April.
  • Refer a friend. Share your link from Refer a friend. Your friend gets £10 ($10 in the US) off their first year of Pro, and you get the same off your next renewal once they've subscribed.

Smaller fixes

  • Signing in by email now works on accounts first created with Google, instead of opening a new, empty account.
  • A cash account's interest rate saves without having to add an overdraft limit.
  • Broker connections no longer open on a blank asset page.
  • Reconnecting a US bank no longer fails partway through.
  • Portfolio updates no longer call a week quiet when your net worth moved.
  • Australian shares are no longer priced from their US listing.
  • Tapping a notification on your iPhone now marks it as read.

That's the past month. Next week's post will be shorter. If there's something you'd like to see in Aureli, tell us.
