What's new in Aureli: a cash page, early adopter access and more

A new cash page shows where your savings could earn more, you can opt in to early access, you can change your email address yourself and more.

This week brings a new cash page for early adopters, a way to change your email address yourself and more control from your connected assistant. Here is what changed over the past week.

A cash page that shows where you could earn more

Early adopters can now open Cash under Assets to see how your cash is working. It compares the interest rate on each cash account with the base rate for its currency, adds up what your accounts earn in a year at today's balances, and shows your blended rate across them all.

A "Worth a look" panel points to the accounts costing you the most compared with base rate, and to rates that may be out of date. It's only for early adopters at the moment. If you hold cash in more than one currency, you can look at each one on its own. Base rate is a reference point, not a rate any account is guaranteed to pay.

On the same accounts, early adopters can also enter a tiered interest rate, with a different rate for each portion of the balance, from the account's details.

Try new features early

You can now opt in to early access from Profile, under Early adopter. Switch it on and we'll turn on features that are still in beta for you, like the new cash page. They may change or have rough edges, and you can switch it off at any time.

Change your email address yourself

You can now change the email address you sign in with from Profile, under Email address, without contacting support. We send a separate link to your current address and to the new one, and the change only goes through once you've confirmed both within 24 hours.

Opening a link asks you to confirm before anything happens, and each email also has a This wasn't me button. Confirming doesn't sign anyone in. You can see a pending change on your profile and cancel it from there. Accounts with admin access at Aureli can't change their address this way.

Your assistant can edit your holdings

If you've connected Aureli to Claude, ChatGPT or another assistant, and given it edit access, it can now do more than add things. It can rename an asset or debt and change its notes, record a buy or sell of a stock, crypto or commodity holding, delete a single wrong valuation, and archive or restore holdings.

Deleting an asset or debt outright still has to be done in Aureli. An assistant can't delete a holding's last valuation either, so a holding never ends up with nothing to show.

A "What's next" that fits you

The "What's next" panel on your overview used to show the same three links to everyone. It now suggests the things you haven't tried yet, in an order that suits where your portfolio is. A portfolio with only a few holdings is nudged towards adding them, importing or connecting a bank. A filled-in one is pointed towards Aureli AI, milestones, scenarios and, on a sterling portfolio, the tax year checklist.

Each suggestion has a cross to dismiss it, and it stays gone on every device. Viewers don't see suggestions.

More stocks, and cost basis when you add one

US-listed depositary receipts (ADRs) such as Nokia, TSMC and ASML now appear when you search for a stock, along with REITs and preferred shares. Results are tagged so you can tell which listing you're picking.

When you add a stock you can now enter what you paid for it straight away, and the fields on the form have short explanations, including what "Acquired on" does.

Smaller fixes

  • The scenarios page has had a slight redesign to improve how it looks.
  • You can now disconnect your only Google or Apple sign-in method from Security. Email sign-in keeps working. We ask you to confirm first, because a disconnected provider can only be reconnected if it uses your account's current email address.
  • Onboarding now explains terms that tripped people up, such as portfolio, equity and the difference between transaction, savings and cash accounts.

That's the past week. If there's something you'd like to see in Aureli, tell us.
