Aureli tracks cryptocurrency holdings as a dedicated asset type, separate from stocks. You provide the symbol and quantity — Aureli fetches the latest price automatically each day.
Adding a crypto holding
- Open your portfolio and go to Assets.
- Click Add asset and select Cryptocurrency from the asset type list.
- Search for the coin symbol (e.g. BTC, ETH). Select the correct match from the results.
- Enter the number of units you hold.
- Optionally specify an exchange if you want prices sourced from a specific venue.
- Click Save.
Automatic price updates
Crypto prices are updated on the same daily schedule as stocks — once per day. The latest price is fetched from the market data provider and stored as a new valuation, which is immediately reflected in your net worth.
LITE users can have up to 3 auto-updating assets (shared across stocks, crypto, and commodities). PRO users have unlimited auto-updating assets. If you downgrade from PRO and have more than 3, the extras are placed into a suspended state. You can still add manual valuations in the meantime.
Manual valuations
You can add a manual valuation at any time from the asset's detail page, regardless of whether automatic updates are enabled. This is useful if you want to record a specific cost basis date or correct an outdated figure. See Manually updating an asset's value.
How crypto differs from stocks
- Asset type — Crypto uses the Cryptocurrency asset type rather than Stock. Both support the same ticker search and auto-update mechanism.
- No exchange required — Most crypto symbols are globally consistent, so specifying an exchange is usually unnecessary.
- Volatility — Because crypto prices move significantly between daily updates, your net worth snapshot reflects the price at the time of the last update, not real-time.
